One hot summer day Fletcher and Preston were hanging out at the school playground. “Don’t you just dislike vegetables so much” said Fletcher. “Ya my least favorite is bruselsprouts” said Fletcher. ”Almost every time I get vegetables I just give them to my dog cuddles” said Fletcher. ”But the weird thing is that today when I opened my lunch last nights brocoli was in it” said Fletcher. ”It was probably just your mom said Preston”.Or was it! It was a hot afternoon at Preston’s house and Fletcher and Preston were on Preston’s trampoline. After a few minutes Preston’s mother called them in for dinner. When they got inside they were surprised to see a pile of broccoli on the plates on the table. Is this some kind of joke Preston thought. Before Preston saw his cat under the table. They sat down Preston whispered to Fletcher ”put your veggies under the table, my cat will eat them”.

”I was going to do that anyway” whispered Fletcher. Once they finished dinner Fletcher’s mother came to pick him up. Preston waved goodby and went to go play on the computer when he was stopped by his mother. ”Come with me”

she said and Preston followed her upstairs to find his cat vomiting on the floor. ”Is that broccoli” she asked. ”No that’s puke but I see the simalarity”siad Preston. ”You fed the cat your broccaly didn’t you”

his mother said. Preston stood there frozen to the spot. His mom just caught him red handed. Thinking fast he blurted out ”Flecher told me to do it he didn’t want to eat them so he got me to do the same”. ”Well, if your ”freind” is making you do things like this then he’s no longer alowed coming over to our house and your not allowed to go to his house eather and you can tell him that”. I have to admit all I herd was “Peston is no longer allowed over and your not allowed at his house anymore”. 

thought Fletcher. Thats the thing with kids. When adults talk all kids here is stuff that occurs to them. But the thing is, when Fletcher tells Preston what happened he’ll freak. But I think it’s time that I start dealing with my half real half fake belife in the vegie monster. It sounds pretty silly right? Well it’s not. All these strange things keep happening, like last night I hid my brussel sprouts on my chair and then when I went into my room they were in there thought Fletcher again.

1 week later Fletcher’s mom said that Preston come back to thier house. Once they were done thier dinner they went up to fletchers room. But once they got up there they were suprised to see a giant vegie monster jump out at them! They were slammed on to the floor but Fletcher and Preston managed to get out of the monster’s grasp and lock themselfs in the bathroom. They thought they were safe but the monster broke through the door. The 2 boys jumped out the window onto the tramoline followed by the monster right on thier heels. Then Fletcher saw his dad pulling in the driveway and got an idea.

“Follow me” he siad to Preston as they ran towards the car as it kept driving in the long driveway. as soon as tyhey got to the car they split up and the car ran in to the monster, smashing it in to pieces of vegetables. The odd thing is that Fletcher’s dad didn’t even notice what he had just did. He just kept driving. “Well, I guess that we don’t have anything to worry about anymore” said Fletcher.

“What is this mess!” yelled Flecher’s mom.

Story (short version):

Kids always put their tooth under their pillow when they fall out. But not Gordan. He always saved his teeth that fell out. Gordan knows that grandparents are always very nice. So he took grandparents kindness to the limit. Gordan would wait for an elder to walk by the candy store and fake a bike crash and spit out 2 or 3 of his old teeth. The elder would rush over, notice the candy store and buy him some ice cream.

But now that he has gotten older he can’t pull it any more. At school the narrator’s class was studying the human body. They had to make a human skeleton out of Popsicle sticks. “Hey” said Gordan “my Uncle Ivan owns a butcher shop if we can get some animal bones our sculpture will be a lot more realistic”. “Lets go there after school to get some” said the narrator.

So after school Gordan and the narrator went down to Gordan’s uncles butcher shop. They climbed into the dumpster out back and found some animal bones in the it . They put them in a shopping bag and started to walk to school.

They stopped at the candy store.They entered the store and put down the bag to get the candy. They paid for the candy and went to school. But Gordan had to go back to the candy store to get the bones because he forgot them at the candy store.

After 30 minutes the principle went down to the candy store to see what Gordan was doing. Once he got there, he saw a bunch of police cars and in the back of one was Gordan! The principle was about to ask him what he had done when a police officer asked him if he new Gordan and then he said “I teach him almost every thing he knows” and he immediately was thrown into the back of the police car with Gordan. Then he told the police chief that they had a new suspect. The police chief told the officer that it was the school principle and to let him go.

Then Mr. Evans asked Gordan why he was in the police car. And then it Happened. Gordan yelled out “it was all Mrs. Hoagsbrith’s fault! She told me to come and get the bones”! So all the police officers went down to the school to arrest Mrs. Hoagsbrith!

My Opinion:

I thought this book was good because it was understandable and it was funny when Gordan yelled out “It was all Mrs. Hoagsbrith fault she told me to come down here and get the bones”! I really enjoyed this chapter of “And Then It Happened”.
